Umpire Information

Youth Umpires

  • Being a youth umpire is a great way to give back by being a role model for younger players and to deepen your understanding of the game. Plus, you get paid!
  • Many of our umpires are also players for FGSL, Foothill Gold, and local high schools – we can work with your schedule for your umpire assignments.
  • Youth Umpires must be at least 13 years of age and have played at least 2 years with Foothill Girls Softball, USA Softball, or a youth baseball program.
  • Foothill Girls Softball will cover the $50 USA Softball Registration fee for all youth umpires that work 5 or more games for the league.

Pay (Youth) Fall/Spring League: $50 per game

Adult Umpires

  • Adult umpires are the backbone of any successful youth softball program and we invite you to participate.
  • We’ll provide training, lend you equipment through our equipment loan program, and will work with your schedule for umpire assignments. Plus, you’ll get paid for your games!
  • No experience required! Everyone starts somewhere.
  • Foothill Girls Softball will cover the USA Softball Registration and background check fees for all adult umpires that work for the league.

Pay (Adult) Fall / Spring League: $70 per game
